Workshops with Claire Osborne
MOVEMENT DAY
Sunday, Mar 14, 2010, 10:30a-4:30p
Become more present and alive in each moment. Move into Body, Heart and Life. This work offers you the opportunity to:
- Develop your personal movement ability and language
- Understand and enjoy some of your/our habits and behaviour patterns
- Explore communication and expression
- Become more playful, awake, aware, expressive, creative and compassionate
- Open to the possibility of change and transformation
- Open to the movement of Life itself
You will be guided to explore movement for ourselves, with each other and with the environment. As individuals and as a group we grow, share, understand, witness, play, create.
All are welcome, experienced movers and complete beginners. No previous experience of any dance/movement work needed. People who have enjoyed this work include practitioners of meditation and body based awareness practices, (e.g. Buddhism, Yoga, tai chi), dancers and actors, psychotherapists, counsellors and body-workers, health care professionals, practitioners of dance and theatre, and complete beginners interested in personal discovery. Cost €60.
Since 2001 Claire has been teaching Moving Presence Movement and Yoga. She also teaches Pregnancy Yoga and Mum and Baby Yoga. She has assisted him in Germany, UK and Ireland and she is presently honoured to be the only person resident in Ireland on his list of teachers. She teaches movement both outdoors and in studio. She is also a community artist and creates community gardens in Cork city and county as a way of linking the body, art and the environment. These are social, practical, sacred and healing spaces. Over the years she has taught Yoga, Movement and Art to trainee psychotherapists, yoga teacher trainees, health care professionals, adults with special needs, children with Autism, psychiatric patients, community organisations, youth groups and schools. She has been facilitating groups for over 18 years.
